M. Daedalus - POETRY / POESIA

monday

Yesterday it was farewell again,
In the morning the linen still exhaled your smell
Chocolates, half-full glasses, adorn the floor
Behind the curtains a morbid grey sky

Listening to the noises of a city still half asleep
On the way to the airport just Monday faces
My hand holds the suitcase but still feels your wrist
As never before I contain the mist in my eyes
Waiting for the flight to nowhere

I used to think of life as a melody,
But I feel incapable of returning a smile
I have been disguising pain for far too long
And increasingly I merely miss being innocent.
